Lake watch

Eight lakes have a Sentinel-2 index series. The value is compared with the lake's own baseline. Unvalidated, and not a safety rating. Since a clear look can be a week or more old and a bloom can surface in two to three days, each lake also shows whether the weather since that look has been favourable: four or more warm dry days, then 15 mm or more within 48 hours. That is the province's stated trigger. We tested it against 647 satellite looks from 2021 to 2026 and found no measurable skill: looks after a trigger were above baseline 8.7% of the time, other looks 8.0%. So the badge is context about how stale the last look is, not a prediction. The rest of the 43 lakes are on the map with their reported-sighting history only.
